Description

Writer/director/star Lena Dunham returns for an all-new season of this Emmy(R)- and Golden Globe-winning comedy series focusing on the ups and downs of a group of 20-something friends in NYC. As Season 5 opens, Hannah Horvath (Dunham) has put her writing ambitions aside, continuing to work as a teacher alongside new boyfriend (and refreshingly nice guy) Fran--a relationship that her friends urge her not to screw up. Meanwhile, Marnie (Allison Williams) micro-manages her wedding, only to realize she needs more space--after the honeymoon; Jessa (Jemima Kirke) tries to stay on the straight and narrow while working towards becoming a therapist; and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) thrives in her new job in Japan.

I love this show and I would give my first born to be on the show. It reminds me of a more realistic and younger version of Sex in the City. Love it!

This show is fantastic and very entertaining. Feels so real and truthful. Lena Dunham is a terrific and brave actress and writer and the entire ensemble manages to portray the almost insane events they face. Say what you will- you either love it or it's just not for you but there is no denying the raw talent. Even down to the music.

Finally, we get to actually care about unlikeable characters. Plenty of character development and growth leading into the final season. Strong episodes that stand on their own like the one all about Marnie and the one in Japan with Shoshanna. Very strong season, Can’t wait until season six.
  • I really enjoy Girls!

The stories are awesome. This show reminds me of myself and my friends from school. It really has a nostalgic vibe for me and I love Hannah's shape. I'm sure many of the people who will read this review will think that it is not a relatable show for an African American, but I have one thing to tell you guys, "We are not all alike." I love Aerosmith just as much as I love Rihanna or Jay-Z.
  • Completely overrated. Used to be good.

Lena completely let success go to her head, she’s become an unbearably annoying, self-important person and in a way that’s likely not unconnected, her character on the show has too. The only people worth watching the show for is Adam Driver, Zosia Mamet, and Allison Williams, the majority of other people are Lena’s friends, family, and other untalented hangers on. It should also be noted that the body type she keeps getting naked to flaunt is simply that of an out of shape, lazy person who needs more cardio, and is no more a natural womanly figure and no more natural, sexy or even interesting than an advanced beer belly on a man is. Anything that was interesting about the first season has gotten lost over the years, and to compensate she went from showing her butt to showing her boobs and now this season she shows her V as well and that’s not how you keep a show interesting.
