Description

In this tiny border town between France and Belgium, life is all about customs. So when headlines announce the opening of the E.C. borders in the early 90's, a loud cry of panic goes up – "Noooooooooooooo!" Ruben is a Belgian customs officer with an abiding hatred of all things French. Mathias is the French customs officer who’s secretly in love with Ruben's sister, the girl from the chocolate shop, Louise. The couple’s love will be tested by a series of hilarious misunderstandings involving a drug smuggling ring, a frog-hating Belgian father, and Ruben’s desire to see his sister get married… to a Belgian colleague, that is. It’s waffles vs. camembert, in a fight to the finish.

As funny as Bienvenue chez les ch'tis with an amazing Benoit Poelvoorde, this comedy is a pleaser!

This film is ridiculously stupid but oh so much fun! I couldn't stop laughing out loud by the plot and the slap-stick performances. The acting is superb and I always love Dany Boon. You don't have to be French or Belgian to understand- just human!!!

This movie was hilarious, from start to finish. Well acted, too. A tale of classic Belgian/French prejudices, with lots of humor. Certain scenes made me roar with laughter. I highly recommend it! You won't be disappointed.

A voir absolument! Admirablement fait! Je me souviens du poste frontière en question dans le film… Chose amusante, les douaniers français étaient les emmerdeurs… Superbe la R4… Alpine

I liked this movie. I thought it was funny and adorable...But be warned that there is a bit of surprising violence and a brief nude scene.

This movie is so funny, really, if you are wondering if this is funny or worth watching try it. It's a lot better than the fodder out right now...

A great comedy with excellent casting, timing and writing that is hilarious. If you have never tried (or liked) French films, give this one a look. You will be laughing from beginning to end. There are so many great comedic details that translate well - even for those who don't speak French. The director was especially generous with letting the other fine actors shine. It was my first Dany Boon movie but it definitely won't be my last. He's simply brilliant!
