Penny Dreadful, Season 1

I love this series. It is dark but very interesting. You never know what is coming out of the dark or is it your inner self? Not boring at all and it is original! Just start watching it and pay attention and put the kiddies to bed!

I love Vanessa Ives character, stories and episodes.

I binge watched this season in one day, and towards the end of the season I found myself a little bored. I'm a huge fan of Victorian literature, and I enjoyed the premise but it seemed to drag towards the end of season one. I thoroughly enjoyed Eva Green as Vanessa. Seasons 1 and 2 are now on Netflix.

Intriguing and sexy mini series. Well conceived, written and acted. The production value, sets and costume design are as if for a block buster movie. Penny Dreadful has cast me to think deeply about life, death, and points in between and beyond. It's Dickens meets Stoker; Shelley meets Dickinson. Man's inhumanity to man and nature. Human bonds and betrayal. Quality summer binging.

This show is a one stop shop. It's very dark but at some times can be light. It's full of drama, action, and of course sex. Eva Green is everything and more!

Expecting a mediocre plot and average acting, I was stunned into awe after watching the first (and subsequently the succeeding later seasons) by Eva Green's astonishing performance and a rich, fun, delightfully dark plot. The stellar ensemble of actors and actresses truly makes this a gem. Viewers can actually feel the pain, loss, excitement, and dread of the characters, getting easily emotionally invested. A must-purchase, worth every cent!

Amazing first season great character introductions and building of the back stories.

I discovered this show by accident, and I’m truly under it’s spell. I have to say I did binge watch both seasons, NOW I’m hooked. Im in love with the entire cast!!

I enjoy a good horror flick. Everything about this series is amazing - the setting, the characters and actors, the language, the story line - make this the best series, EVER! Better than SOA and GOT. I can't wait for the next season. Well done!

This is the only TV show I’ve ever binge-watched - watched all of season 1 in one day. Then wanted to watch it again. I never lost interest, never felt like I was seeing the same formula over and over in each episode. There are interesting takes on the horror/gothic characters people are familiar with. Like two Frankenstein “monsters”?? an American werewolf in London, who’s a sharpshooter?? It’s just a good, out of the ordinary show IMHO. I really need to see season 2 iTunes people!!!! 8/7/15 - Don't know why season 2 isn't available yet!!!! I couldn't stand waiting any longer for iTunes to get its act together, so I downloaded the Showtime App - they're running a 30-day free trial.
