Description

For better and worse, times are changing in the outlaw camp known as Deadwood. Facing a government of outsiders and the possible loss of claim rights, denizens struggle to cash in on their dreams before it's too late. The ascension of Deadwood from camp to town is imminent and new arrivals are ushering in an era filled with tough decisions and brutal power struggles. HBO presents Season 2 of the Emmy®-winning drama series that follows the ruthless inhabitants of an American frontier town. Picking up where Season 1 left off, now-Sheriff Seth Bullock (Timothy Olyphant) and Machiavellian saloon owner Al Swearengen (Ian McShane) continue to share a restlessness of spirit, heightened by the influx of new residents and imported officials threatening to turn the lucrative anarchy of the Deadwood camp into a real law-and-order town. Molly Parker, Brad Dourif, and John Hawkes co-star.

Ian, Timothy, Paula, Leon and on and on. These great actors workin w/ great writin ta make a historical series. Why did it have ta end? Because it's cheap ta put on "reality tv" like the Kardashians. Empty foolish nothingness. Great series enjoy the three seasons as I have.

I don't understand the pricing of this series either, the new season of LOST is 39.95 and an five year old HBO mini series is $35? I throughly enjoyed season one which I bought on sale and at these prices there are just too many other things I'd rather watch.

This series is intense. Seems the language calmed a little bit the 2nd season. It's keeps you enthralled.

I loved all three seasons of Deadwood. I don't think there has ever been a better TV series for writing or acting. Huge shame that it only lasted three seasons. It makes no sense that it was cancelled.
  • Just Amazing... not just a Western.

Not one Actor did anything but an amazing job in this series. I cannot remember a time in which I was blown away by even the most small supporting performance. How HBO did this? I have no idea, but from what I have seen in interviews with the cast etc... it sounded like a raw process and the kind of outcome you get when you bring passionate actors together at a small ranch to shoot a dramatic story. This story captivates our countries issues and illustrates them in this microcosm of natural balance. Dont watch it if you dont mind being thirsty for more when its over. What a great show, it will be hard to beat this with any new age series that follows it.

Definitely the best production of anything i've ever seen, in every regard. The acting, the writing, the cinematography, the costumes, the social metaphor, the portrayal of the human condition.
  • If tiramisu were a TV show...it would be Deadwood.

I'm a huge fan of the Western genre, and its never been done as well as Deadwood. Not for 'daisies' or 'dandies', the language is as harsh as you'll EVER hear, and the violence is brutal-and as far from glamorous as it gets. But this is simply the best western TV series ever, for its amazing acting, wonderfully-written and inventively-varied characters, sumptuous sets...the grimey, muddy detail is everywhere! Its so rich, if tiramisu were a TV show...it would be Deadwood. I only wish they'd made more.
  • Deadwood is a hit!

As a student of 19th century American History and The American West I find this series to be as authentic as any depiction of the era. Gritty, dirty, fowl that is how the people of this place and time lived and this is how the series portrays it. Not for the timid or sensitive, this show depicts life, sex, and death as it really happened. The story is nearly historically accurate and a must see for anyone who is a fan of “the real” west.
  • WHAT'S UP WITH THE CORRUPTED SEASON FINALE FILE?

    By HOCUSPOCUSDOMINOCUS
Apparently from these reviews I'm not the only one having an issue with the last episode download being corrupted at 280mb. I've purchased this episode and been refunded three times, each time with the "sincere and genuine concern for my dissatisfaction", the assurance that "Apple takes pride in the quality of their products", the promise that "the situation will be remedied" and the suggestion that I wait and try again in a couple weeks. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to resolve this issue? Does anyone have an uncorrupted file? I don't want to purchase season three until I have all of season two.
