Um...Excuse me, I'll be right back. I'm currently having a severe case of NOSTALGIA! This show was part of the golden-age of Cartoon Network...miss it to death.
  • One of the greatest animated series ever produced

"Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shape-shifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish Samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to opose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to the past, and undo the evil that is Aku!" [this review is for the entire series]. Holy crap this series is awesome! How do I describe it? Well..............think of any kind of storyline and throw a samurai in it and you will get this series. Anything...........like a samurai teaming up with the 300 Spartans battling robots in a similar style to the Battle of Thermopaylae or one of Aku's robot minions being the focus of a science fiction noir storyline.........you name it. To describe the storylines........they pay homage to various differnet works by different writers [Akira Kurosawa, Fritz Lang, or Sergio Leone for instance]. I am sad that Jack never got to go back to the past, like he had planned..........but, since the rumors about say that J.J. Abrams [the genius behind Lost, Cloverfield, and the Star Trek film..........yes, I still like this film but I admit to the inherent problems with it] is making a movie based on the character. Maybe Jack could finally defeat Aku. Oh well. The dialogue is straight and to the point. The animation, by Genndy Tartokovsky, is sharp and beautifully animated....in fact, I can consider it one of the few times that animation is art. If you like great animation or just want to watch a great original sci-fi show, check this cartoon out.

I've loved it as a kid and I still love it now, so it should be no surprise that I want to get all the episodes. I would even get it in HD if I could!

This was the best show on cartoon network until 04' when all the crappy shows went on and the good shows went off. Guess I am just gonna have to stick to Boomerang.

@Daniel, time travel is how and it's a sc-fi cartoon. What do you expect. Anyways, this is one of the best shows to hit toonami (besides the DBZ saga) I loved Jack from beginning till end. Should have got more seasons though
