Emergency!, Season 1

John Gage (Randolph Mantooth) and Roy DeSoto (Kevin Tighe) are the paramedic firemen of Squad 51 who brave countless dangers on their rescue missions. Once they've sped their desperate charges to the emergency ward of Rampart Hospital, Dr. Kel Brackett (Robert Fuller), Dr. Joe Early (Bobby Troup) and Head Nurse Dixie McCall (Julie London) take over the life-sustaining efforts. On the periphery are other doctors, nurses, firemen and police officers who become involved at the time of tragedy – whether it's a gasoline tanker crash, a private plane disaster, or a jewel thief stuck in an air conditioning duct, Emergency! Season One covers all of these situations, sometimes as a vignette within the framework of an overall story, sometimes as separate stories within the hour-long episodes. But whatever the situation, the paramedics respond with sirens screaming and red lights blazing.
