The reason is gets 3 stars is because of the cool scene at the end. I fell asleep 2 times watching this. If it would of have less abstract scenes and an explanation and more scenes like the last one, it would have been great.

Alien comes to earth with some unknown mission, takes on the appearance of a human female, wanders around, things happen, then it is over. That's about it. There is no upside, just a dark and pointless film.

Uhhhh, yeah. To watch this “movie” and get something out of it, you got to keep your head on a a)swivel, b) pivot, c) merry go round, or d) centrifuge. Can I get an Amen? No? Can I get some escargot? No? Can I get a brick with mortar slapped on it? No? Well, dang nam it, Scar Jo! What can I get? If this intro to my review makes positively no sense, that’s because it shouldn’t. Because this “film” doesn’t make sense. It’s pretentious, preposterous and premeditated Snafu-edness. You know, Situation Normal - All Freaked Up. It’s art house tomfoolery. An exercise in whimsical meaninglessness. A gave it two stars for originality, if you can call it that, and cinematography / production value. It looked great and camera work, lighting and placement were very good. Almost too good, because you get sucked in hoping the payoff at the end of it would be fantastical or explanatory. No, not really, but it was E for Effort. I bet this film could have been shot in a couple days on location in Scotland. It was simple and vacuous. Intentions were thrown off the window and nothing had to tie together. Plot was meandering and confusing. Oh, and acting was not required. Scar Jo sleep walked through most of it. The F/X were kind of cool such as the mysterious under water encounter of two lost souls living in a fish bowl, year after year. The man with elephantiasis was eerie and odd and made me sad to think this guy was exploited for being a loner. You could not really root for the protagonist because her intentions and motivation were heinous amid the avant- garde nakedness. It all comes down to sex, really. Don’t most films? If sex is portrayed as the evil and the villain, what does that say about the way sex is the overwhelming choice of Hollywood to express a solution to life’s ills. Rather, it multiplies problems. It’s a tragic theme to all worthy horror and sci-fi films. Too bad, ScarJo is a beautiful creature and epitomizes our over infatuation with female figures. Feminism takes center stage to nothing if not hot chicks stripping down to a birthday suit. It just accentuates the stereotypical world we live in. Perpetuating a societal bias toward women who can drop down to skivies and keep a hour glass figure does nothing to advance a plot or device for improving how we treat women. Thanks for nothing Ms Johansson.

The scene with the child abandoned on the beach at night is so bad that this alone makes this film a piece of trash. Not recommended for sensitive and good people, you may stop sleeping for a while. Worse film ever.

Complete Nonsense!!!! Those who gave a favorable rating had to be doing drugs while watching. I have watched alot of crap and was still able to identify something redeemable about the movie. As far as this movie is concerned... I've got nothing. Complete an utter Nonsense!!!! How do I delete this off my library?

Notice that 90% of people rated this as one of the worst movies they have ever seen and were mad that they wasted two hours. The other 10% say they loved it. Watch at your own risk. Personally, I am in the 90% that thought it was a colossal waste of time.
