  • One of the Best Adaptations

This movie is one of the best adaptations of Little Women. It is very close to the book and got the waterworks going in several scenes. I’ve read the book and love it, and I cried happy tears during this movie. Beth’s speech to Jo before dying is one of her favorite scenes. If you feel like most of today’s movies don’t have enough value or empowerment, I recommend this movie. It’s powerful and uplifting and celebrates girl power.

First off I have seen almost all of the adaptations of this movie and read the book and all of its sequels. That being said I was very impressed with this film. My mom showed me this movie when I was about seven and I absolutely loved it! Later I read the book and was surprised at how true the movie was to the book! I know a lot of people were upset that the film makers switched Amy and Beth's ages (making Amy older). To tell the truth I didn't really notice until someone told me. Of corse there are some differences from the book, but aren't all movies like that? Over all I HIGHLY recommend this movie, it's clean and has great moral values. A great movie for families.
