Description

In the tradition of grand animated classics, Disney's 11th animated masterpiece, THE ADVENTURES OF ICHABOD AND MR. TOAD, presents two unforgettable children's classics. Through award-winning (Golden Globe, Best Cinematography, 1950) Disney animation wizardry, THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS and THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW come together in one fabulous adventure -- in its original theatrical format. Hang on for a wild motorcar ride with J. Thaddeus Toad as he drives his friends Mole, Rat and Angus MacBadger into a worried frenzy! Then meet the spindly Ichabod Crane, who dreams of sweeping beautiful Katrina Van Tassel off her feet, despite opposition from town bully Brom Bones, who also has his eye on Katrina. The comic rivalry introduces Ichabod to the legend of the Headless Horseman, resulting in a heart-thumping climax! Wonderfully narrated by Basil Rathbone and Bing Crosby, THE ADVENTURES OF ICHABOD AND MR. TOAD brims with high-spirited adventure, brilliant animation and captivating music you'll want to share with your family again and again.

Disney was not only a good story teller but he made the headless horsemen seem even scarier when he wasn’t there, just before he actually showed up and chased Ichabod

I bought this mainly for the Mr. Toad half. It’s fun, cute, and has always been a childhood favorite of mine. The Ichabod portion I found boring (or at least the non Headless Horseman stuff).

This movie made by Walt Disney wasn’t as funny as Pinocchio or as charming as Alice in Wonderland, but the movie has it moments. There are two stories, one called, The Wind in the Willows, and the other, Ichabod Crane the Legends of Sleepy Hallow. The headless horseman at the end of this film was kind of disturbing. Pinocchio is funnier, better, and had more funny and sad moments than this film.

I really enjoyed this, especially the Mr. Toad sequence. I love the fact that Bing Crosby is the narrator for the Sleepy Hollow take, but a little bit of dialogue for Ichabod would have been nice. Bottom line I think this was the best Disney film of the mid-late 40s and is very underrated. 5 stars!!

I haven't seen this movie when I was a kid, but when I did, but older, I was pretty impressed. The stories were well narrated and the characters are very impressive. The one I really enjoyed though was The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The ghost story is EXCELLENT! They had that one very close to the story behind it! And hey, you think that the scene when the Headless Horseman arrives is scary? Watch the Tim Burton movie Sleepy Hollow and decide which one is scarier. You be the judge. Overall, this Disney version was pretty good.
