An excellent movie.

I own this film and am forced to purchase the 4k version. Apple s_cks.

For those who don’t already know, your iTunes HD purchase of Casablanca was upgraded to 4K. You just have to go into the TV app or manually search your library to find it. iTunes has zero to do with this. It’s the studio, Warner Bros, who chose to rerelease the title with different extras from the previous release. But the 4K transfer is the same. So, there you have it. Classic film, of course. But WB and other studios need to stop being so greedy.

Already bought this. iTunes trying to act like I didn’t, hoping to scam me out of more money.

Bought this a while ago and notes it’s showing I need to purchase it again? WTH iTunes. Why do you keep doing this??

The iTunes app was showing this as a separate listing, and asking me to repurchase this movie to get the upgrade, but mine now shows up as 4K.

I purchased this 4 years ago and it appears Apple has removed my purchase and I’m now required to buy it again in order to watch it.

If you bought this before, your purchase may not show here (bc they intentionally broke the link), but if you refresh your TV app then your prior purchase should refresh to 4K, if it hasn’t already on its own.

This is a great movie. I bought it in 2020 from iTunes. Now iTunes has re-released the same movie in 4K as a separate listing so that they can sneakily get around their promise of free 4K upgrades. Those of us who purchased this movie from iTunes previously would now need to re-purchase it again if we want the 4K version. iTunes keeps doing this and it’s really frustrating 😡. If you’re not going to upgrade our iTunes purchases to 4K anymore, then just say so instead of making false promises.
