It is amazing how an atmosphere can be created with little backgrounds, and this Director is excellent for how he has created suspense. This is truly a classic and well worth watching, as the French version is a bit different from the US.

This is the most enchanting movie I have ever seen. When the beast comes to her at dinner, and woos her with words of love, if you are not in love by the end of this scene you can't fall in love. It has so inspired that hence and forever more I will always have a thing for a man with a hairball.

This is not the movie I wanted. I was looking for the Disney version of this movie. It is very confusing when you show 2 trailers & 1 of them was not for this movie.

i first saw Beauty and The Beast in the 60s on my PBS stationn. I was in my teens and was so taken by the beauty of it I couldn't wate to see it again. It would be over 40 tears before I saw again and was not disappointed. It was every thing I remembered. Beautiful; photography, beautiful costu.mes and good sets. And then tere's the makeup. WOW!! Jean Cocteau's brilliant "Beauty and the Beast" is a visually captivating, beautiful, breathtaking masterpiece that belongs with the best films of all time. And while Disney's film is the greatest animated film ever made and deserves large recognition, I would put that masterpiece a drop below Cocteau's. Both films are masterpieces, and highly recommended.

This is one the most beautiful movies I've ever seen. Once it finished I immediately grabbed for the remote and started it over. It's that good.
