it’s not academy award winning master piece but it really is a fun sing along movie. I had no urge to see this but saw it on HBO one night and I was hooked. It’s a dark horse cult classic like Rocky Horror Picture Show or Little Shop of Horrors. Go into it for a good time and that’s what you will get.

It's a stain in the name of rock n roll

I Love Rock of Ages. I saw the Broadway show, bought the Broadway album and the silly t-shirts. I really wanted to like this film! The only expectation I had was "please don't mess up the songs". Tom Cruise is embarrassing as a rock star. He clearly had vocal lessons to get him to hit the notes and yet they lacked soul. Where's the rage the angst and the passion!!! The script is fun and brilliant, the music choices are great and creative. I just wish they did it over with a lead that can sing! That being said Juliana did a great job as Sheri and the other actors were adequate but Stacy Jacks had to exude sexual tension and Tom Cruise is a cold shower. Please if you love rock and roll they way it was meant to be don't buy this film as I did. Wait for it on cable. Real bummer.
