Yes the pace is slow but it’s to fit the feel of the movies subject ,well filmed and acted I thoroughly enjoyed it

Don’t waste your time and definitely not your money. Nothing here to see for action or anything else. Just a boring waste of time. This is my 3rd worst movie of all time behind A New World and There Will be Blood.

Shame on me for taking so long to write this review. I first watched Valhalla Rising several years ago, and it immediately rose to my favorite movie of all time. Of all time! And it's stayed there ever since. It's incredible, simply incredible.

Please do not waste your time, it is terribly boring, and has a brutal rape scene that is unnecessary for the story line.

This entire movie feels like it is trying very hard to be “artistic” and “visually striking”, and for that reason, people think “Oh, I am supposed to like this trendy-edgy flick!”, diluting themselves into enjoying it more than it deserves. The end result, is a movie that completely fails in story telling. Go ahead and ask someone who “loves” this movie, what the premise of the movie is. Just because it doesn’t have a lot of words… does not automatically make a movie fantastically different… it just makes it lazy.

Intensely amazing .

I have never felt compelled to write a review. This movie was so bad I wanted to save others the hour and a half I just lost of my life. Theres such a thing as artistic technique to evoke mood and create emotional effect and then theres dramatic overkill. This movie was painful in how long it drags out scene after scene.

not worth watching

Beautiful photography does not make up for the lack of plot or the fact that nothing interesting happens. The end is more baffling than the beggining and the middle takes forever. I should not have to refer to the writer to understand what is going on; film is a communication medium, so let him communicate something that can be understood. Do not allow yourself to be persuaded by the bright reviews shown - this is not entertaining.

An outstanding movie and better than I anticipated, raw with a brutal harshness that took me on a riveting journey back in time and when I got back made me grateful to be where I am today lying in my bed, electric blanket and a 55inch TV. For those of you who prefer the usual dumbing down Hollywood scripts you are spoilt for choices with lots of happy endings and a few good moral messages thrown in for extra measure. I only hope this movie doesn't end up with a Hollywood makeover like "girl with the dragon tattoo". For us alternative viewers out there this movie is a gem.
