There is nothing "passionless" or "superficial" about this film, unless you are a moron who is completely out of touch with the reality of the South. As someone who grew up in the South, the first twenty years of my life… and as someone who was forced to defend African American people on multiple occasions (because it was the ONLY right thing to do) even against some of my own family members… I can tell you right now… this movie gives a brutally honest representation of the ignorant and hateful mentality that exists there… all too real for me ! The South has come a long way since the 70's, but they are still backwards when it comes to both racism and sexism. Thank God there are some truly good and kind-hearted people there as well, but do not think for a moment that racism is a thing of the past… and that IF We All Focus on Positive Thoughts and Emotions… And If African American People Just Realize They Are NOT Victims…. the bad and the evil will just disappear ! Puff Right ? Hardly !!!! I’ve always said this about racism… and I genuinely believe it is the Truth. Racism is a Spiritual Disease… of the soul and of the mind. When you truly have the Spirit of God in your heart and soul…. you SEE people as people. That’s all… no division, no bias based on skin color or cultural background. You see LIFE as Sacred… that includes all people, all animals, wildlife, the Earth… all Sacred and worthy of respecting and protecting !! My skin is white, but my soul has many colors. If those comments make you want to vomit… you need to do a “Soul Check” my friend. “Blood Done Sign My Name is a good movie… albeit intense and just as I described in the title” !
