A compact and tight Western, with a very good script by Elmore Leonard, ace performances by Clint Eastwood and Robert Duvall, and some excellent scoring by Lalo Schifrin. It's not an epic, just a well-crafted story that will help you pass an hour-and-a-half with pleasure.

Clint Eastwood is excellent, Robert Duvall is perfect..The music is a joy to hear and spectacular sceneries..Great ..My favorite western.

if you like his shoot em up kill everything in sight movies this is not one of them this is my least favorite clint movie. he is a lot younger in this one. not as good as his other westerns.
