The Yes Men

This documentary is a must see. It's very entertaining and poetic.

The Yes Men are true heroes and this movie should have done better by them. They have pulled so many outrageous "identity corrections" in the few years that we were lucky to have them, that I honestly believe they helped to awaken many of us to the suffering caused by globalization and the dangers of allowing arrogant corporate mentality to run amuck. One of their finest performances (and one that wasn't even mentioned in the film) was to apologize for the disaster in Bhopal, India while posing as Dow Chemical Executives. When Dow heard about it, they were so confused. They actually believed that one of their executive departments had apologized. Their marketing people came out publicly and said something like, "Well, yeah. I guess we are sorry." This may seem small to some people, but everytime something like this happens, people are left wondering about the current corporate mentality. There were times the Yes Men spoke at conferences and said things that were insanely inhumane and they received standing ovations from the executives present. The movie just didn't do them justice. In some places, it seemed to be working against them. Go to their website. It's better than the movie. Finally, I hope that the Yes Men thrive forever. May they always be among us - ready to pounce on the institutional greedheads who would destroy people, animals, and environments - and even entire countries - for their own personal gain. Here's a suggestion, Yes Men. Why don't you go after the Bilderburg (sp?) Group. One of Bush and Cheney's lovely little "clubs" that practices efforts to reduce most of the world's population to the level of medeival serfs, while enriching the 1% (themselves), who would rule the rest of us.

The Yes Men - a dismal attempt at an interesting documentary topic. Instead of feeling anger at the WTO, the viewer only feels pity for Mike and Andy as they try to expose the WTO. Save your money.

This movie was very informative and well done, not to mention hilarious at the same time. I loved it! If you want to know more about the WTO and other corporations that presume to run the world, you should watch this movie.
