But it was depressing. I can’t believe this was actually a book. The acting was good though.
  • Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio are both fantastic

Sam Mendes is a good director he directed such good movies like American Beauty, Skyfall, Road to Perdition and Spectre. But Revolutionary Road is a new and dramatic take on hard relationships both Winslet and DiCaprio hate each other in real-life so lets make them fight in this movie and the acting, production value and cinematopgraphy are fantastic. The movie has a raw feel and it looks gorgeous beyond structure and every shot and performence are good i highly recommend this hard-hitting drama.

Not bad, but stay with the book, a masterful depiction of 1950's America when supposedly life was good. The best thing is the actor who playing the "crazy" son of the realtor. Great chilling perforrmance. Kate is better than expected, but "Jack" will always be jack, a very limited performer. Richard Yates is a terrific novel writer.

Sam Mendes (American Beauty) once again delivers a masterpiece that like his debut film shows the struggles and harsh reality’s of suburbia life in America. Leonardo DiCaprio & Kate Winslet are nothing short of incredible although Winslet shines with her jaw dropping performance & career best in my opinion. Micheal Shannon adds onto an amazing cast with an outstanding role as a middle-aged man struggling with a plethora of mental issues which does a fantastic job of tying into what I believe the overall theme of the film was suppose to be.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. From the book by the same name, Kate Winslet is amazing and the movie keeps you thinking long after it's over. Whether you're blissfully married or not, new to marriage, or been together for decades, you'll recognize something profound in this film.
  • A film that connects on a deeply human level

I understand the point of view of some thinking that this is a depressing movie. However I think if thats what you walk away with here your missing the point. It's a film about going after what you really want in life, without compremise. It takes real guts to rise out of the ordinary and go against the grain and even question the majority. I think many of us have experienced this in some way, often we rise up and then stumble or ration our way out of who we truly are. This is probably one of my all time favorite films, brilliant writing, directing and acting all around....even the cinematagraphy was outstanding. I couldn't believe Kate won for the reader over this film. DiCaprio, is doing some of his finest work. I feel like its hard not to be connected to this movie and the natural wants and needs of both characters. How they act when they feel mis-aligned with life vs aligned with their true selves. Well done Sam Mendes! Also special shout out to Michael Shannon for his unigue character and performance. Bravo to the entire team for putting it out there.

  • A Deeper Film

My favorite part about this film is how closely it follows the details and dialogue in the book. Aside from the author’s commentary on the American Dream, this movie says a lot about selfishness, self-importance, and insecurity.

This was a great movie! To the people who missed the point.. The point was.. They didn't want to be the cliche suburban robots.. In those days you where expected to get married, have kids, work in a office, and the wife stays home raising the kids.. Cooking the meals.. Etc."living the American Dream. well not everyone is about material superficial things like the big White House and the white picket fence! Kathy Bates playing the "gossiping two face everything is perfect" woman but had the crazy son... "To be free" that was the point! To be free to do something different.. Something they really wanted to do together. That's the problem with today still.. We work to live, we live to work.. No adventure, love gets stale.. Etc.. Wonderful movie..
