A LOOK INTO HIS LIFE

Michael Collins did what he could for the country he loved so even if he was met with opposition. A misunderstood man branded a threat to Britian, but a freedom fighter to his land. This movie explores his life and how he created a country.

Great Movie that gives a Generaly Good Outline of the Events of Michael Collins life. It gives more of the Dublin City perpective, but the Bloody Sunday events are very well done.
Alan Rickman looks a lot like de Valera, which makes it pretty cool as well.

The best movie I have ever seen. Movies like this which are based on true stories are the best.

No Man Can Do Enough For Ireland

The title I chose for my review, taken from the Irish play "Juno and the Paycock," could easily have been the tagline for this film. I am not Irish myself, but the historical background of "Michael Collins" is fascinating and more than a little disturbing. Regardless of how accurate the movie is, it holds the viewer's interest from the opening scene depicting the Easter Uprising of 1916 to the final scenes of...well, I'm not going to spoil it for you!
The R rating should be taken seriously. There is plenty of profanity in the movie, including numerous uses of the f-word. It is also quite violent. That being said, those who are comfortable with films such as Braveheart (this is sort of the Irish version of Braveheart set in the 20th century) and have an interest in history or Irish culture in particular should find more than enough to win them over. Liam Neeson is as gripping as ever in his performance. Long live Ireland!
