Description

To Jill Johnson (Camilla Belle, The Ballad of Jack and Rose), it was the perfect babysitting job. The parents were away. The fridge was stocked. The children were tucked into bed. But then the phone rings and an ominous voice asks, 'Have you checked the children?' Locked in with the lights out and the curtains drawn, a panicky Jill phones the police, who trace the calls ' only to inform her they're coming from inside the house. And as the frightened teenager goes upstairs to check on the children, Jill's quiet night of babysitting is about to turn into a nerve-shattering nightmare of suspense, horror and dread.

Very good scary movie! A teenage girl who is babysitting for the family of a wealthy doctor (the house is gorgeous!) gets repeatedly taunted by calls from a killer. I watched the original When A Stranger Calls from the 70’s and this one is way better!

I loved this movie growing up especially around the time when having a babysitter was a big deal.
  • A good, creepy horror movie

I’ll never understand how this movie has such bad ratings. I love it, and I love how you feel isolated and trapped in that ultra modern house along with the main character. I also love how nature sort of becomes a character with the wind and the lights flashing from outside
  • Seriously?

You have to have a low iq to actually think this movie is good let alone scary. It’s just so stupid.

Horrible acting and boring as hell. If I could give a zero star rating, I would.

This movie is good and ok. But I kind of liked it in a way.

I've never seen the original 1979 Fred Walton film that this movie was based on, but I didn't think I had to, considering that as a movie, it should be good enough to stand on its own. Boy was I 1000% WRONG. Boring, boring BORING! That's all this was for 87 minutes. Unfortunately, as are most teen-directed, modern day horror flicks, once again we the viewing audience are treated to no character development from our lead stars, incredibly rushed and boring exposition, and almost zero suspense. Seriously, how long does it take to actually show the stalker?!? I get that it's supposed to also be based on "The Babysitter and the Man Upstairs", but that would work much better as a 10 - 15 minute short film, NOT an almost hour and a half film. Hang up on this one, folks, and just read a good book instead.
  • So stinkin good!

This movie is by far my favorite horror movie! And one of my top 4 movies in general! This movie was kinda scary to me (in my opinion) but that didn't matter. What made the movie so epic was the THRILLING SUSPENSE, good actors (esspecially Camilla Belle and Katie Cassidy who are both CUTE), VERY CREATIVE story but short. The ending could have been a little bit better, and realistically, some of this wouldn't happen. But VERY THRILLING and Camilla Belle is CUTE! So if you like thrillers, this might be your choice!
