I feel out of step with everyone else who rated this. I'd give it 2 1/2 stars. We found it dated, implausible, and dopey. Sorry, not our cup of tea!

George Clooney as the charming rogue anti-hero. Again and again and again. Just stop.
Fantastic movie

One of my all-time favorites. I’ve seen it a dozen times. “Clever” is probably the best descriptor. Great cast, story, directing, soundtrack, comedy, romance, and amazing chemistry between Clooney and Lopez. This one has it all - guy movie and chick flick in one. The bar scene will make a girl melt.

I don't know how they could do it any better. Scott Frank always delivers the actors and director a masterpiece to work with.
witty, funny, dark....Elmore Leonard and George Clooney!

George Clooney and Jennider Lopez have great chemistry. Don Cheedle is scary wacky. Lots of great supporting roles. The script is witty, dark, funny, romantic.
One of a Kind

.."Get In The Trunk!"..An exceptionally well-Chosen Cast; Solid & Surprisingly good Acting from Everyone; And Crisp & Clever dialogue (From Elmore Leonard!)= An Enjoyable; Suspenseful; Modern Crime Drama!-{ I won't divulge the ending; Except to say that "She Gets Her Man!" } I mean: Clooney; Cheadle; Lopez & Zahn have all gone on to Bigger & Better "Film Projects"; But this is one Movie that's still "Out Of Sight!"; Man!...by Grimmbo.

Absolutely vulgar in its profanity. Turned it off first ten minutes. Would actually like my money back.
A movie that deserved a better box office than it got

When originally released, "Out of Sight" did not do particularly well -- it was the middle of the summer and it just got lost in the blockbusters. That's too bad, because it was very well written and had many memorable performances by a strong cast. Two scenes stand out and both showcased the remarkable chemistry between Clooney and Lopez: First, the time the two spend in the trunk of the T-bird - truly classic dialog and body language. Then, later, when the two have drinks together in the Detroit hotel - as sexy and intimate as conversations on screen get. Most definitely worth renting!
