Description

Clint Eastwood's second film as a director finds the celebrated action star returning to his familiar Old West stomping grounds and his internationally acclaimed role of "The Man With No Name." This time, The Stranger (Eastwood) mysteriously appears out of the heat waves of the desert and rides into the lawless, sin-ridden town of Lago. After making a name for himself with a string of blazing gun battles, The Stranger is hired by the townspeople to provide protection from three ruthless gunmen just out of jail. The Stranger quickly proceeds to paint the entire town bright red, rename it "Hell," and supply divine retribution in the fiery, pulse-pounding climax of this acclaimed western shoot-em-up.

This appears to be the theatrical version, the same as the DVD for anyone wondering, this is not the one you see on TV. Of all of the Clint's westerns, for me this is the best one, the character comes into a town that is all ready corrupt, and the solution is uniquely represented with a great ending!

Other than The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, this happens to be my favorite Clint Eastwood movie. Buy it and you won't be disappointed.

I have bought this film yesterday. I have sean it long time ago and I think it is one of the Clint's best westerns, just behind Outlaw J. Wales and Pale Rider. I must say I'm not big fan of westerns, faaaaar from it but Clint Eastwood's westerns are awesome. The idea behind this film is so original even today. Have nice time watching it. I know i did.

First off, I am a huge fan of Clint Eastwood; especially westerns. This one according to critics and viewers is great. I'm not so sure. It just felt a little dull and at times boring.

This movie is classic Eastwood. The way it illuminates the strengths and frailties of the players on both sides of the struggle makes it believable and compels emotional investment. The violence is palpable, but like always, retribution is swift and certain. Without this movie, your Eastwood collection is incomplete.
