  • Hard to watch

I love this movie. The acting is superb and the subject matter I know well and I suppose that’s what makes it hard to watch but harder to look away.

    Haunting
  • Fetal Position

At the very end each and every charachter is in the fetal position. As a person who has been through addiction and lost many friends before the age of 35, it is a great depiction of the desperation people go through. The tolerance that builds up, the boundaries you break...its sad to watch a downward spiral trying to chase something so fleeting.
  • Trainspotting meets Seinfeld but smarter

Requiem for a Dream reminds of me of Danny Boyle's Trainspotting because of it's heavy drug use and montage of herion but this movie is really hard to watch much like Trainspotting that movie was funny and funny. But requiem for a dream is drepessing more depressing than The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.

The encoding of this movie is the problem here. I don’t have audio popping issues with any other iTunes movies
  • Good but then got pretty stupid in last 30 minutes

I know street drugs and prescription drug abuse is terrible but c’mon hallucinations and ECT for a woman coming off diet pills?
  • This is your family. And this is your family on drugs. Any questions?

A propulsive soundtrack launches this film off the screen and into your mind. Be prepared for a harrowing descent.

Excellent picture, along with the delightful soundtrack that take you to the depth of each character's story and dream. I regret not having seen it before. Very worth-watching.
  • No Sympathy

The acting is great and the characters are interesting, but I have no sympathy for any of them. Bad things happen to them, but I don’t care about them for the main part because they were mostly evil people. Because it’s a film and we get all close to the protagonists, we should feel sympathy for them, but I can’t stop thinking ‘these guys are drug dealers’ and I want them to go to jail. And the girl, she is just an idiot rebelling against her family. Even if she wasn’t on drugs, she would make a mess of her life. The whole thing seemed pointless to me.
  • A Movie But Real

This may be a movie, but it is based on what's real in life. Drug addiction isn't a beautiful, clean, romantic thing. I think when every person on this planet turns 13, they should watch this.
