The Tailor of Panama

john le carre is pretty good at coming up w/ spy/conspiracy intrigues (he also wrote the constant gardner). this one is no exception, altho in most ways it's not very hollywood (which is why i think some people don't/can't get it). first of all, this is not a dumb loud action movie. the best way may be to describe this a dark political comedy/thriller. pierce brosnan does a pretty good job of portraying his character, and in many ways parodying his past james bond role. most of the characters are ridiculous and bad, and in some sense, strangely realistic. there is a little bit of serious history and politics, but all for the purpose of satire. this is one of the most intelligently funny and subserve movies i've ever seen. i love it

One of the worst movies of all.

I really enjoyed this movie. Pierce Brosnan was great in a roll that was like James Bond's evil twin brother. It was interesting, the acting was good and a surprising plot.

If you like real movies, you will love this. Instead of a cookie cutter film, there is a real story, plot, and cool twist. The protagonist, and antagonist are acted out really well. Trying not to give too much away, but if you enjoy great films, you will truly enjoy this one. This film was before "Matador" (I think).

Excellent plot, great spy movie...

No explosions. No gadgets. But there is a plot that is both funny and captivating. Great movie for those who dont like to be spoonfed their plots.

This movie could not be any more boring. It doesnt keep you entertained or anxious to see what happens next. Dont watch it, dont buy it or rent it.
