Description

An infant raised to manhood among savage apes, living by his wits and the law of the jungle, returns to society to claim his inheritance of humanity and privilege. It’s a 4K world, Apple. Why are you selling VHS quality?????

From a certain point onwards, the story has little in common with the book Tarzan of the Apes. In the movie, Tarzan appears more stupid and a lot physically weaker than in the book. He is much more complex in the book. Moreover, I felt the acting was pretty poor and many of the scenes weren't convincing. An all round disappointment.
  • Acurate but not Disney

This is the most accurate movie I've seen when it comes to what actually happened in the book. However, if your looking for a good movie with a good story, Disney trumps this by a lot

I read all of the Tarzan books in the Summer I turned 10. I loved the stories and I believe this to be the best version on film; if you want the story laid out in it's original style. (Trust me I have seen them all, including the horror that co-stared BO Derek, I was only 17 and she was really hot...(I have no other excuse)).. **P.S. It is probably the best bit of acting you will ever see from Christopher Lambert, I know there are some fans of "Highlander" cringing but; sorry, this was better.
  • Great movie but relentlessly sad

The apes are treated with brutality by the Europeans throughout the film. If this sort of thing really gets to you it might be best to pass. If you can handle this then you are in for a truly well made and emotionally moving Tarzan film.
  • Needs widescreen

Great film that loses points because of the lack of widescreen. Almost necessary with the great cineamatography.

This is the best Tarzan movie out there, and just a moving, beautiful picture in general. I too grew up with this movie and am so happy to find it for sale here.

I grew up with this movie. It is a very realistic look at Tarzan....a boy raised by apes. It offers a real life look at what life would be like if this actually happened. Its a great movie and a must have. If you like realistic nature action, you will not be disappointed.
