Description

Based on the top-selling, award-winning video game franchise, the HITMAN is a genetically-engineered, elite assassin known only as Agent 47. His very existence seems to be a sin, but he wages a quiet war to rid the world of evil. He’s brilliant, charismatic and charming – yet reveals little about himself, has no name, and is known only by the last two digits of a barcode tattooed on the back of his head. His hallmarks are a lethal grace, unwavering precision, and resolute pride in his work. But even 47 couldn't anticipate a "random equation" in his life of exactitude: the unexpected stirrings of his conscience and the unfamiliar emotions aroused in him by a mysterious Russian woman.

I thought this movie was very well written, acted, and filmed. I have to strongly disagree with Tomatoes’ rating.
  • Ignore the critics

It's unfortunate that critics make sport of destroying decent movies; Hitman is a fun romp of an action film easily worth of the rental price. Yes, the plot is a bit convoluted, but the cinematography and action sequences are great. Olyphant's performance is perfectly suited to the task at hand, and don't forget the stunning Kurylenko… Ignore the critics. This is a fun watch.

As always if the so called critics hate it, it will be good. The critics are so old the Atari was to new for them. The critics can go rub them selves in peanut butter and go watch the life of pi. Which I'm sure they though was wonderful.

The critics ripped this movie apart but I had no quarrel with this reboot video game to action motion picture. First off I have never seen or played any of the games in the Hitman franchise. With no plan to. Seeing this movie, now I might. I just think the movie demonstrates that the game is most likely better than the movie. Secondly, the way the movie ran felt a lot like the Borne Supremacy movies. Which wasn't a total bust. I liked the Borne movies and I don't mind how this movie is linear to it. But I believe Hitman could of tried more to distract you from that. While they didn't, I see scenes in this movie where I have to chuckle and say "BOOOORNE". Lastly, the main character was played by the same guy that plays in "Justified" so I thought that was kind of funny.

Not a great plot, but acting was ok, and it delivered to my expectations. I just wanted and enjoyable light action flick and that is what this is.

It's not a date movie, it's not an Oscar winner, but if you love the Hitman franchise this movie stays true to expectations. Cast well, follows the game well. I got a kick out of this film and I'm no idiot who lived at home with Mom. It does have a Euro-Trash feel like the Transporter, but there are like (2) Americans in the whole movie and the director is foreign so...you get what you get. I saw Commando with Arnold 100 times and it's a terrible flick. This is up there with the shoot'em ups you'll see again & again. I hope the sequel has an American director and improves over this. Would be epic. I can't wait for the next game also.
