I love DeNiro in love stories. This one and Falling in Love are two of my faves. This one is about a widowed mom, Iris, who meets Stanley when she gets mugged and he steps in to help. Stanley has a secret, though, and they help each other through life's hard knocks. The crazy family just adds to the realism of the characters. Love it!

I love Jane Fonda, one of my favorite actresses. Robert De Niro is arguably one of the greatest actors. I actually like viewing this movie. Upon reflection, I have to say that there are much better movies out there. The script could've been punched up so that the storyline may have improved. The problem was not the main storyline. That was great. The middle could have used a little rearranging. This movie is BUY-worthy but don't expect the most epic movie of either of the main actors.

Great movie. Little slower than movies today, which gives it more of a -classic- feel. But greatly acted, good writting and well directed. Very uplifting to anyone who is feeling stuck in dead end jobs, or has any sort of learning difficulties. A very good Romance
