Dressed to Kill

I watched it and asked myself how could that movie come to a good rating. The story is cheap, The acting is low class, except for Michael Caine. I can’t find an answer. Maybe because these ratings are all undermined by idiots or guerilla marketers. Maybe 35 years ago it worked out. But here you can see that after a certain time only real quality still shines. This wasn't real quality. One star is appropriate.

the unrated version to purchase it? It's hard for me to believe that more people prefer to rent movies. But if that's the case, some of us prefer to PURCHASE movies. Does iTunes pay attention to what viewers have to say?

I had this thing figured out within the first 15 minutes. I'll agree with an earlier reviewer: this thing hasn't aged well. I mean, what was a creepy thriller has 1980 all over it. Something about the message left at the psychiatrist's office... Anyway, I couldn't finish watching this dreck. And the dialog: "There's this hot-pants-ed broad comin' on to this weirdo", and all of that kinda swell police lingo. The open shirts and gold necklaces give it away. Gee. Makes you wonder why this movie is still getting play. "Hey, you're no witness, you're a suspect!" was the takeaway line for me. My verdict:Corn-Ball!

This is totally Idiotic from start to finish. I can't believe I stayed for the whole thing, (just wanted to see how bad I guess). Not up to Brian De Palmas reputation.

the cd cover is stupid they just kill people just because the are stupid. So what if it just a movie because it's a true story. The women in this movie is ugly then the real scary person in that movie. Just have fun people to buy fun movies like the duo.

Visually very striking at times. Really classic Hitchcockian in the way that dramatic, visual moments are filmed in near slow motion. That's it for the good stuff, though. Awful dialog, acting is really laughable. The "main character" changes from Angie Dickinson to the prostitute chick, and the whole store just doesn't come across as believable. Luckily I got it as a 99¢ rental.

Either things really have changed, or a quote - unquote classic thriller has not aged well. The dialog is ridiculous, sophomoric at best. Really, were cops and shrinks that silly back in 1980? If the viewer can make it to the end, the remaining characters summing up how they figured it out had the quality of a Scooby Doo episode with the villian saying, "I would have gotten away with it but for those meddling kids." Two stars instead of one because there is a suspenseful quality of drawing out the moment that is lost in todays movies. Too bad the result of the suspense was either awful or downright humorous when it isn't supposed to be.

Sorry to say this does not stand the test of time. Horrible acting of a terrible screenplay. Only redeemable part is Dickinson's body close to her prime.

Wonderful videography, perfect for Hitchcock fans :) You'll definitely be wanting to get this film!

Without knowing much about it I bought this movie because it was DePalma homage to Hitchcock and they are two of my favorite directors. I was pleasantly surprised how great it was. It was DePalma at his best paying tribut to one of the greatest directors of all time. It is exciting, suspenseful, and scary. If you like DePalma or Hitchcock I highly suggest you buy this movie.
