Abandoned

Writing was terrible and the movie was so very slow. I kept waiting for something to happen but it never did. It is not scary and def NOT A HORROR movie. I love Emma Roberts but this movie was absolute trash.

I feel like this a film few will enjoy but I’m glad to say I did. Sure, it follows a prototype we’ve seen a thousand times in the horror genre but I really enjoyed the female point of view. Spencer Squire directed the film beautifully and I look forward to future projects from her. Emma Roberts gave a terrific performance as a young mother struggling through postpartum depression and Michael Shannon was great as a haunted neighbor you’re not so sure you should trust. While this is not one I’d call scary, there are great elements of suspense. Overall, pretty decent although I think the ending needed to be flushed out a bit more.

This is a suspenseful story about a young wife who overcomes personal obstacles and a haunted house. For an Emma Roberts fan it was very entertaining and fun to watch.
