Most people that are dogging this film are bringing too much outside feelings when watching this movie. Mads Mikkelsen is portraying the character in a much more favorable light than Johnny in my opinion. Cinematically this is better than the previous film. Cinematography is on point. I think this is a really well done film. 4/5.

  • It’s the worst Wizarding World film… but it’s still good

Here’s the prodlem, I had huge expectations for this film, especially since I went on my birthday and I really really liked Crimes of Grindelwald. This wasn’t bad. No, really. But it was a little boring. But it still is good.

I don’t understand the complaints about dropping JD or the “woke” plot line at all. This was a good movie, with good acting and a good plot. I guess some people are offended by the idea of gay people *existing* to the point that any movie with LGBTQ characters is “politicized” and “woke” to them. The anti-LGBTQ, politically-motivated negative critiques of this film are sad and — frankly — gross.

This entire movie felt forced as if it had only been written to cram a woke, homosexual agenda into the story. The main characters are given a bare minimum amount of screen time and then sent packing to allow time for completely unrelated and unnecessary characters. If iTunes allowed negative stars, I would’ve given it.

    Why ?
  • What even is this story?

The story is the first attempt to paint political structures in this world and it makes no sense. It takes half the movie to understand who the bad guys are because they just speak. There’s no action. This has the impact of leaving Newt & his friends feeling like they’ve been randomly glued into somebody else’s story just to call this a trilogy by showing them… even though they don’t do anything to move the story The story is supposed to be driven by Dumbledore’s invention that keeps the good guys from just arresting the bad guy until they shoot at them… then the bad guys shoot first and dumbledore easily wins, the end. This is a completely wasted conflict then ends up meaning as little as JK Rowlings clumsy political aphorisms in the script
  • Nicely Done

I came into the movie with lowered expectations looking at the reviews left on this forum. In fact, the movie was well done. Political intrigue, wizard culture, some action, cuteness & whimsy. Everything I’d expect for this chapter of the franchise. Regarding recasting Depp, they made a fine choice in Mads. Depp is always too over the top for me. He’s always playing himself playing the character. The new take is better.
