Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins

Oh yes they can and did. What a mess. This movie literally just has a basic plot with G.I Joe slapped on it. Hasbro, just stop making G.I Joe movies if you can’t follow through on a true adaptation of this franchise. You literally had Larry Hama at your disposal and you guys just still ruined it. Honestly, as bad as rise of cobra and retaliation are they do a better job portraying Snake Eyes then this movie. Larry Hama must be so disappointed that they can’t make a good live G.I. Joe movie. But it’s not his fault. Hasbro is just irresponsible when it comes to this franchise and it’s just not going to get better. 35 years and this is where we are at fellow fans. Guess it’s time to take my money, go home and find a new franchise to enjoy. Hasbro… you are a disgrace to this franchise, the characters in it and especially the fans. We deserve better, Unfortunately you won’t.

The overall story/characters is very flawed and frustrating, and the action scene camera work specifically is too shaky. This could have been a home run in the right hands, pisses me off. The movie is far from perfect but I liked it a lot better than the first two G.I. Joe movies. Looks like G.I. Joe is finally moving in an interesting direction. they got my attention for sure.

This movie was so good I totally recommend

Interesting plot, a little weak but good over-all. The action is entertaining, just right and not over the top. But those huge snakes was a bit too weird… it would have been ok if it was an anaconda movie.

This new GI Joe entry takes the series in a totally new and exciting direction. I enjoyed the action sequences, the cinematography, and the lavish blackdrops that really transported you to Japan. It’s an entertaining movie with a good amount of visual spectacle.

Don’t waste your money.

Yes, there are some problems. ALL movies have problems and if you look for them you will find it. I think this movie is a good direction for G.I. Joe and Hasbro need to double down and continue to make more G.I. Joe origin movies. The G.I. Joe brand is currently only making money from toys. They need to reinvent themsleves to stay relevant in the media. The G.I. Joe fans are stuck in the past and superhero movie fans want their big CGI third act fight and they are holding this brand back from moving forward with its own identity by downvoting this movie. The G.I. Joe cinematic universe can be different from the comicbook universe - Marvel do that all the time. I want to see a Lady Jaye and Spirit origin movie.

Besides is the movie getting more stupid as time goes on. It is a failed attempt a reboot, it doesn’t match any of the previous two movies ,which is saying something considering the last movie rebooted without trying to be a reboot…
