Lupin III: The First

The trailer alone got me into the series, but the movie was something else! The animation is gorgeous all throughout and the music is excellent. Both dubs are great too. It’s great having most of the original cast back and the Japanese actors are great too. The new character is pretty good too. Now, the plot is a little “been there, done that” like people say, but it’s still really good and fun. My only real gripe is I wish Jigen and Goemon were in it a little more. Overall, it feels like a special from Part2, and that’s just more of a good thing in my opinion. I really enjoyed it. You can tell the animators and writers put a lot of work into this movie. Shame COVID ruined the western release in theaters. If you like Lupin iii, I highly recommend this movie.

"Lupin the 3rd: The First" is the best animated, Action & Adventure-type of movie ever! I just watched it. And it was awesome! This movie may have a handful of cuss words. But it doesn't matter! This, of most of the greatest movies ever watched, is the greatest, animated, Action & Adventure-type of movie, ever watched! And the most funniest too! No doubt about it.

A great watch through and through. The animation will blow you away and the iconic Lupin hijinks will carry you through the entire movie. It gets pretty crazy, but then again of course it does since it's Lupin! Great for newcomers and longtime fans. If this is the first time you're watching anything Lupin-related, you will understand the movie just fine -- as it does a great job showing off everybody's dynamic. The entire movie is lively, and it has an iconic dub. Worth a watch!

I find it funny that the reviews are all in English trailer is in English yet the movie is in Japanese. Don’t be taken in like I was and fall for the false advertising. The movie is supposed to be in Japanese and English but I couldn’t watch it long enough to get to the English part. Bottom line don’t rent this movie it is not as advertised.

One of the best animations I’ve ever seen, great way for Monkey Punch to be honored by his favorite character. I hope he got to watch it before he passed.

Great great great! Loves the animation and how they kept true to the animated forms and likes of the characters. The story line is great, funny and cool as usual. Loved loved loved the film! I want more :)

Lupin's charisma is on in full force in this exquisitely 3D-rendered rendition. This new entry in the long-running franchise feels fresh, hillarious, and surprisingly touching at times. It's a hijinks-filled adventure story that reminds me of the 3D animated Tintin movie mixed with Inspector Gadget. The characters have great dynamics and the plot takes some very interesting turns. Really fun romp, even if you know very little about the franchise. It's a standalone movie, all you really need to know is that Lupin III is a master thief, descended from Arsene Lupin, who is eternally on the run from hapless Inspector Zenigata.Lupin III has two sidekicks, and a femme fatale rival/love interest.

It deserves the best

Man I cant wait for it to drop but why it’s not in 4K?

At first the story, and animation seems ok on the trailers, but once you actually see the full quality of the film it’s absolutely astonishing. Just seeing one of your favorite series in this amazing new CGI style gives you goosebumps, and don’t even get me started with the new soundtrack, with remastered classics, and new gems. And once again the iconic Lupin cast is back to play the roles of our beloved characters, with also new characters as well. The story is basic, but it’s like the director says in the beginning of the film, “I wanted it to feel like a Hollywood movie as much as possible.” But that doesn’t make it bad. Throughout the whole movie I was entertained, with the new story, and the mystery of the new diary, and characters, it was also so much fun, and funny with the characters as usual. So if you’re a Lupin fan, or are just interested, this is a definitely must watch.
