I was looking for a comedy, and thought I'd found one when I saw the trailer. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very complicated story filled with innocence, terror, contemplative suggestion and much, much more. Sir Ben Kingsley is one of the few actors who IS his part. You see his face and recognise his person but after a few minutes you only see "the General"; the actors have left the set and the real people are on screen. There are less than a handful of actors left today who can transform as he still can. Hera Hilmar quietly offers a stunning performance as his maid but, watching her glide effortlessly through the scenes, we really see her power of presence in her matter-of-fact attitude. Even her beauty is subdued by her interaction with Sir Ben. It's a great movie - very much not what one expects from the trailer. Well worth buying!
