Gripping. Well-acted. A fun action ride. People need to stop comparing between this and the original. It would be near impossible for an original “epic” to be remade in these days. Audiences have changed. I highly appreciate this movie, though, and love that it depicts the story of Christ. I honestly had low expectations and remember when this came out- I wasn’t interested in seeing it. But, all that being said, I’m glad I purchased it! Great movie. Worth the watch.

This movie converted me into a believer that Hollywood is truly a money laundering scheme.

I'm judging it on it's on merits. I simply don't know how some of these "Top Critics" come to their opinions! I'm not comparing it to the original although that might be wrong since it's borowing the name. It's actually a really good movie! Beautifully done! It kept my attention and kept me entertained. I loved the message and how it ended. What more can you ask for!

This is an amazing film. Edge of seat with twists that leave you holding your breath. Outstanding acting.

I give this movie 100 stars!!!! It kept me glued to the screen! The actors did great despite what haters may say the actors were very believable! so much so that by the end of the movie when the brothers forgave each other I was crying like a baby, it takes a lot to make me cry! The plot was was much better than the original! The cross scene was very moving! I could say much more about this movie but I think you get the point 😋

I love movies like "300," "Gladiator," etc. Figured this would be smilar after watching the trailer. It was (just not as good), my issue is they kept weaving in Jesus-y BS into the movie. Way too much Jesus stuff for my taste. It really wasn't even necessary. Throughout it was Jesus preaching, Jesus calming a crowd (several times), and then at the end, crucifying Jesus. For a minute it felt like I was tricked into watching "Passions of Christ." I am glad I only rented this movie, but I wish I could complain and get my money back. I get it, Christians believe in Jesus, to each their own. But it was a turn off for this agnostic. It was way too preachy when it could have just been about a family/revenge/roman sports/etc. Hopefully this review saves some one else a few bucks if you aren't wanting Jesus shoved down your throat.

Ignore the critics! It was an amazing movie and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
