Even though I would like to, I’ve never read the book. But I’ve seen the movie and, while it’s not the best Stephen King horror movie, it’s pretty good! For those who consider the ending a downer, I agree. But I’m a bit of a sucker for happy endings. If you want a better Stephen King fright flick featuring these two actors, try 1408.

1:how can phones effect a people and create a virus I mean are you saying phones are bad and kill people? But the actors are good so can’t argue with that logic🙄

Good premise. Good cast. Those two elements make the majority of the movie just barely worth watching. The drab looking production manages to make the Georgia shooting location look like an economical Bulgarian one. It’s supposed to look like the area around Boston. There are a few bits of decent action sequences including a chaotic opening (despite some dated looking cgi) and a pitch black darkly humorous “phoner” slaughter that involves a big truck and field full of “resting”maniacs. But what little good will the uneven production earns is completely undone by too many unexplained moments that appear to hint at something more profound but go NOWHERE and a twist ending that renders a great deal of foreshadowing and emphasis absolutely null. Just a lazy waste of time in a pathetic effort to be clever. It might actually make you angry, as it did a lot of other irritated viewers online apparently. Ultimately what is so disappointing is that a good movie could have come of this, and an at least passable one could have been salvaged from this mess.

Astonishingly BAD. One of the worst movies Ive seen in recent memory. Like both actors and King but Lord Have Mercy! Who allowed this brain fart to come out? Who ever directed this abomination should be charged with something. Wasted 15-20 minutes of my life :E

If you are a fan of the book this crap is based on, don't waste your money renting this. It's nothing like the book, which is one of my favorite Stephen King novels ever. The fact that he was one of the screenwriters of this is very sad. He destroyed his own work. So much of the book was changed, or left out completely, and not for the better. The ending totally sucked as well. Usually I like the movies more than the books/ novels they were based on, but not in this case. Very disappointed.

If you have read and/or enjoyed the book, please, for the love of all things you hold dear, don't watch this movie. No plot, the screenwriting was all over the map, and using the terms "based off of the book" is even pushing what it actually did. Missing very key parts and adding useless "action" wasn't the right move on this one. I want my 6.99 back from that abortion. -4/5 if I could give it that.

I liked parts of it quite a lot, especially the first half.. But then it's all down hill from there. Will I still buy it? Depends on the price.. But I was let down here.. Could have been so much better.

Ive read the book and its not as good for sure but i think it is a decent movie it would have been very hard to tell the book completely
