Description

In this outrageous Unrated version, Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, The Heat) stars as Michelle Darnell, a titan of industry who is sent to prison for insider trading. After doing her time, Michelle emerges, ready to rebrand herself as America's latest sweetheart, but not everyone she steamrolled is so quick to forgive and forget. With nowhere to go and no one to scam, Michelle is forced to move in with former assistant Claire (Kristen Bell -- Frozen, Showtime's House of Lies) and her young daughter, Rachel. Now at her lowest point, Michelle wastes no time in devising a winner--take--all plan to rebuild her empire. Can she reclaim her status as the No. 1 screwer, or will the love of one family screw her for good?

The Boss was a waste of time for me iam serious! Melissa McCarthy needs to be in something that she has credit for because every movie i see with her she always fails and tried to give Melissa McCarthy a second chance but The Boss is poorly written, loud, annoying, and the casting choices and jokes are just irritating.

Having enjoyed some of McCarthy's previous efforts (excluding Tammy, which was perhaps worse than this movie, so there really is a positive to "The Boss", having said that) it was really difficult to get through the film without having an intense feeling of disappointment at how poorly the movie was constructed. As a fan of the comedic film genre, I would have expected to at least find some redeeming qualities within this movie, but having a 100 minute movie in which we're following and supposed to root for an unlikable and aggressively tasteless character is the final nail in the coffin. Nothing better can be said about the other actors, all whom were terribly unfunny or just uneeded (Kristen Bell). However, the few laughs that I got from the movie were provided by none other than Peter Dinklage, who elevated the D material into at least a C-grade film. If you feel like killing 100 minutes on a boring Sunday afternoon, then you won't be at a loss for seeing this movie, just don't expect comedic genius from an actress who has demonstrated to be capable of much more. B/c it's the female version of anal humor. I enjoyed this film. Cracked me up.

It starts out entertaining although there's too much foul language in it and it's unnecessary and then it starts getting lamer as it goes on. Also Melissa McCarthy is dressed like a nasty overweight makeup and perfume wearing ...fill in the blank. It makes her irritating to look at throughout the movie. 👎🏻

This is just another worthless, stupid & meaningless movie from Hollywood. I wish I could get my rental fee back. I will never watch a movie w/ her in it again, just a trash movie.

I started this movie expecting something silly, mindless, and funny. Unfortunately, this wasn't even funny. Any attempts at humor were just low and crude and even those weren't landing. To be fair, we only got about 20 minutes in before giving up!
