Description

Male nurse Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) is poised to propose to his girlfriend Pam (Teri Polo) during a weekend stay at her parents' home. But here's the catch... he needs to ask her father first. Alas, the fur flies as Jack Byrnes, Pam's cat-crazy, ex-CIA father, played hysterically by Academy Award winner Robert De Niro, takes an immediate dislike to her less-than-truthful beau. Greg's quest for approval gets seriously sidetracked as Murphy's Law takes over and a hilarious string of mishaps turns him into a master of disaster and total pariah in the eyes of the entire family... all except his shell-shocked girlfriend, who can't believe she still loves her one-man wrecking crew. Meet the Parents, from the director of Austin Powers, is an uproarious blockbuster hit that bombards you with one laugh after another, as true love tries to conquer all, against all odds.

My favorite part of the movie is when Greg is trying to book a flight back to Chicago and the airline employee is typing away at lightning speed on her keyboard to make the sale.

I was going to buy more movies with De Niro however I just removed every movie with this idiot from my favorites list. Lucky this is the only movie I’ve purchased with this loser idiot!
  • One of the most awkward movies I have ever seen...

...and just so you know, I'm not a fan of "uncomfortable" humor (e.g. where a guy tries to help or make a good impression and just makes a big screw-up instead). This film had A LOT of that kind of humor in here, but luckily the last quarter of the movie made up for it in the end.

Great movie if you are looking for a formula movie with no funny parts. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Peter Travers? How much to pay anyone but the most cornball reviewer to give this piece of crap positive comments. Yech.
